Castle City
Castle City was a family entertainment center in Indio, California, that famously housed The Rock-afire Explosion animatronic band . While the original establishment eventually closed, the building later operated as Rock-afire Pizza, keeping the iconic show as its centerpiece for several years.
Connection and History
The Venue: Castle City was known for its distinct castle facade and served as a popular destination for family outings and birthdays in the Indio area.
The Show: It was one of the few non-ShowBiz Pizza locations to feature a full, licensed Rock-afire Explosion show.
Transition and Closure: Following the closure of Castle City, the property was purchased and rebranded as Rock-afire Pizza around 2000. However, by July 2008, the animatronics were retired and replaced by television screens for sports. The restaurant officially closed in 2011.
